Go hassle free this summer with totes! What’s great about totes is that they are roomy and practical. When you need to run out the door, you can simply stuff all the things in your bag as you run around your place grabbing beach essentials. Totes are also great for book worms that like to read good old paper books. I read a bunch on my iPad and Nook but I alternate between paper books and ebooks because my eyes get tired of the glare. So when I’m carrying around actual books, it’s easy to stuff them in a tote with a blanket to go read at a park. I’m sure you can think of a hundred other practical uses for totes this summer. So let’s get started with the awesome totes I found online!
This all over heart pattern tote reminds me of a raincoat I used to have when I was three years old. I loved that coat. It was navy blue with big red hearts. I’d wear it with rain boots and jump on puddles all afternoon. Grab this tote full of hearts and play like your inner child wants to!
West Elm has a wonderful Beach tote available with wet garment compartments and pockets. Stick your wet bathing suit in its own compartment or take this tote to the gym and stick your stinky clothes in their own pocket.
This enormous SALT SURF Tote Bag fits your gigantic beach towel. We all like a little extra space on our beach blanket so that we have a sand free zone in the middle of the towel. Now you don’t have to think about carrying that giant towel around. Simply stick it in your tote bag and head on out to the seashore.
I love summer because it’s watermelon season. I can have watermelon juice to my heart’s content. You walk into the grocery store and they have mountains of watermelons for you to pick from. Now I can show my love for watermelon with this colorful tote by Kate Spade New York.
This bright scalloped edge tote is the perfect bag for the summer. It’s spacious, stylish and sensible. The main reason I am adding this tote to my wish list is that I absolutely adore scalloped everything. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a bikini, dress, top, bag, wallet, or shoes – if it’s scalloped I most likely want it.
This stylishly plain leather tote is the perfect bag to take to the farmer’s market. You can fill it with veggies or flowers and carry it around comfortably. Can you picture this tote full of colorful tulips? Gorgeous.
I found a new online store to add to my daily window shopping, Pixie Market. They have the cutest dresses and accessories. What I like about this store is the apparel they carry is trendy, yet it has a unique style. I haven’t seen the clothes they carry in other sites, which is exciting. After a while, I start to see the same dresses in several stores. I’m happy the brands have been picked up by many retailers; but when I’m trying to find unique things to share with you it gets tiresome seeing the same garments in every site. Pixie Market is a refreshing change to the constant repeats. If you want to wear something unique and lessen the odds of wearing the same outfit as someone else at a gathering, check out Pixie Market. I put together my current favorites from their site.
This dress reminds me of the traditional pinstriped dressed of the early 1900s; but with a modern sexy twist. You know, that era where women wore adorable little blazer jackets over long skirts and accessorized with parasols during their strolls around the park. This fashionable mini dress caught my eye because of the adorable white cuffs at the sleeves and the matching collar. It also has a cinched waist for a flattering look. Wear this dress if you are going for a classic beauty look.
For today’s Wednesday Wishlist, I have some really cute clothes, animal inspired goodies and structured satchels. I have such an enormous collection of dresses that I want to feature in this and upcoming Wednesday Wishlist features; but I decided to mix them up with other garments. I want to avoid sharing with you the same mistake I made with my closet. I have too many dresses and too few tops and bottoms to change it up a bit. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing dresses. They are comfortable and make me feel fancy without much effort. However, it’s harder to change things up with dresses. Mixing and matching tops with skirts, pants, and shorts give you more flexibility with your collection of clothes. You can wear the same top with different bottoms for completely different looks without looking like you’re wearing a uniform. To get that unique wardrobe effect from dresses you need to buy many, many, many dresses. Of course, wearing sweaters with dresses and changing the accessories, such as tights, do add some variety; but not as much as separates. Still, I am addicted to dresses and I will continue to add to my stockpile. Nonetheless, I am making a conscious effort to add more top and bottom options to my closet. So with my rant out of the way, let’s get started :)
This coat’s fit and flare silhouette makes it look like a dress. It has a strong military look with the double row of buttons and camo-ish green. If you decide to wear it over a dress, it will be like you’re wearing a dress within a dress. That sounds like a fantastic idea for a dress junkie like me :) It also looks like it is made of thick material that will actually keep you warm. I have coats that have thin lining and are pretty much just decorative.
Everyday, I scour a long list of my favorite sites and pin all the awesome things to my Pinterest Boards. (Follow me on Pinterest – user: PinkghostFL) I stumble on some pretty cool stuff but not all of it makes it to the blog. So in an effort to bring some more of my Pinterest finds to Cool Gifting I decided to start a new feature: Wednesday Wishlists. Essentially, this feature will have the items I have loaded in my shopping carts during my daily internet window shopping. I hope you find great gift ideas for others and yourself in these posts :)
This dress made it into my shopping cart once I saw the back. I always fall for dresses that have cutouts in the back. My first dress with a cutout back had a square cutout and it was made by Vans. Ever since, I always check out the backs of dresses for a unique cutout. When I saw the cute circular cutout in this dress, I knew I had to have it. It’s a lower cutout that allows you to wear a bra without showing your bra strap. Aside from the nice cutout, what sold me were those coral buttons down the back. What a nice touch! Finally, the color combination of beige, dark coral and white feels a little like neapolitan ice cream. Sweet!
SPOLIER ALERT! If you haven’t finished watching the series there are spoilers in this post.
In honor of the end of the TV show, tonight I will be having a Parks & Recreation Viewing Waffle Party. I discovered Parks & Rec last year during the lull between the release of House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black. I remembered having watched a few episodes out of order some years back and not liking the show. Then, one lazy weekend, we decided to give it another try – from the beginning. I’m glad I waited so long that the first six seasons were available on Netflix because we binge watched them like maniacs.
Needless to say, I will be sorely missing these characters. I will miss the non-stop Leslie Knope – saintly go-getter and fierce feminist always looking out for her friends. I will miss her “Ovaries before Brovaries”, “Uteruses before Duderuses”, and “Galentine’s Day”.
I also loved the ongoing fictitious companies that made jabs at real life companies like Paunch Burger poking fun at fast food. Other things I will miss: Perd Hapley’s strange diction, Tom Haveford’s low key jokes (“nice tie dimple”), poor sad sack Garry, the cute relationship between Andy & April, insanely spoiled John-Ralphio & his sister Mona Lisa (played by Jenny Slate), and of course Ron Swanson. I’m so glad I can binge watch the new season of House of Cards this Friday to alleviate the sadness. Au revoir Parks & Recreation. I had a blast!
Shop Gifts Ideas For Parks & Recreations Fans
So keep an eye out. If you see anyone freak out over the show’s ending like me, then they have outed themselves as Parks and Rec fans. In the future, when you have to give them a gift, you can find them something related to the show they loved and recently lost. That’s what I do when I need to give someone a gift. I am alert year round to what they like and then I have lots of ideas when it comes down to picking a gift. I found some incredible fan art on Society6!
Tom and Donna’s Treat Yo’ Self escapades were an ongoing gag throughout the series. Now, if I’m on the fence on a splurge you can bet I yell out “Treat yo self!” when I pull the trigger. Hee hee :) This artwork is also available in other colors and in mugs, shirts, iPhone cases, pillows and more. So check out the site for more goodies.
Spring is right around the corner and the floral pattern trend is in full bloom. From shoes, to dresses and accessories; flower prints are everywhere and I like it. It makes you want to have a tea party in a garden or at least a dinner in a back yard with stringed lights. I have put together a collection of floral patterned items, which I have stumbled upon lately. I hope you like it :)
This dress caught my eye because it has a beautiful cream color and the floral print is mostly on the skirt. If you look closely only a few flowers peek through the top of the dress giving it the feel of an actual garden. I am a sucker for small details like these in clothing. Looking at this dress I am reminded of flowers trying to grow, ever reaching for more sunlight. Other details I like about this dress are the delicate shoulder straps and the unique racerback finish in the back. The final reason this dress made it into my shopping cart is the A-line silhouette. I find the A-line cut to be the most flattering style in dresses and skirts. This is a definite must have for spring. It is perfect for outdoor events and looks gorgeous with the Kate Spade New York Licorice Too pumps in powder patent.
The latest trend in handbags is the bucket bag. These deep bags with draw string closures are practical and comfy. I have been seeing them pop up in every store and every brand has released their take on this season’s hot item. The good news is they are available in every price range. So if you are looking for a designer bucket bag to flash around or an affordable one to use every day, the options are endless. Here are some I liked. As you can see, I had trouble narrowing down my options :)
Michael Kors bicolor soft venus leather crossbody with shiny golden hardware, adjustable shoulder strap, drawstring top, hanging MK logo charm, iInside, fabric lining, open pocket, and four card slots.
I was wondering what kind of clothes ASOS would have in their Valentine’s gift guide but I was surprised to see a bunch of quirky products besides just clothes. Actually, their selection was pretty spot on. I kind of want most of the products for myself. So I went ahead and rounded up my favorite gifts from their guide below. Enjoy!
The ASOS gift guide for guys has an awesome selection for fashionable guys. If your valentine is not afraid of wearing a watch with gold rose details or rose gold fox cufflinks, then you should check out the ASOS gift guide for men.
If your valentine likes to attend comic conventions, binge on anything Nathan Fillion related on Netflix, owns a Star Wars collection or has a cuteness obsession, your valentine just might be a geek. Regardless of her geekyness levels, she will be excited to receive any of the goodies below for Valentine’s Day. Seriously, who wouldn’t appreciate a bouquet of plush kittens?
For Gamer Girls: This satchel-style handbag features a fashionable, repeating pattern of sprites in neon colors: 8-bit swords, hearts, robots, flasks, and books – basically all our favorite things. Colorful and quirky, the bag comes in black faux leather with grey trim and plum details with chromed hardware or white faux leather with tan trim and hot pink details with gold-colored hardware. It’s a kitschy, stylish bag that will level up your already epic style.
